As a multimedia journalist and communications expert with over a decade of experience, I have witnessed the power of impactful storytelling to inform and inspire. In my role as the Development Communications Manager for UNDP’s Merged Areas Governance Programme (MAGP), I have focused on securing media coverage for initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where we support governance, peacebuilding, and livelihoods.

My journey in the field of multimedia journalism began with a dual bachelor’s degree in human rights and convergence journalism from Southern Methodist University. This educational background equipped me with essential skills in reporting, editing, and production, allowing me to effectively convey stories that matter.

One of the key aspects of my work is the utilization of advanced equipment such as Sony cameras and editing software like Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere. These tools enable me to capture and present stories in a compelling and visually appealing manner, maximizing their impact on the audience.

Being multilingual has also been a great asset in my career. Fluency in English and Urdu, along with conversational skills in Pashto and Spanish, has allowed me to connect with diverse communities and communicate effectively with people from different backgrounds.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to contribute to major Pakistani news outlets as well as international organizations. This diverse range of experiences reflects my commitment to social justice and my belief in the transformative power of media. I firmly believe that media can be a force for positive change, and I am dedicated to using my skills and expertise to create a lasting impact.
